Green Pheasant

It was fine this morning, and Mt.Fiji had a snow cap.
A few days ago I met a Green Pheasant, called "KIJI" in Japanese.
The first thing I heard was it's shrill cry. It surprised me. The next thing I noticed was it's violet neck and purple-green tail.

The Green Pheasant is the national bird of Japan. One of the reasons is because it is a delicious delicacy.
The Green Pheasant is also permitted as a game bird in Japan.

It's funny, isnt it?
